Okta - International Travel
Accessing SPPS email (or data) while out of the country. To access SPPS email while traveling a user must have Okta Verify installed and setup on a device that is on their person. A user also must have multiple authentication devices while traveling. It is recommended to have a YubiKey and/or a cell phone with Okta Verify setup as a backup authentication device. Okta MFA outside the US requires a user to submit a ticket to be added to an exception group. All SPPS resources are blocked from access outside the USA if a user is not added to the exception group. It's also worth noting users will be required to authenticate more often, and access to SPPS resources is blocked in certain countries based on current cyber threat levels. If you lose your device while traveling please notify SPPS technology services promptly. Current Blocked country list Current countries where SPPS email cannot be accessed from: China Russia Belarus Iran North Korea Nigeria Okta also has a dynamic block feature that will block IPs based on know threats.
